After welcoming the New Moon in Sagittarius last weekend with one of my Women’s Circles I’ve realised how important for us females is to gather and connect without the pressure to compete, to compare and show off. Sharing and listening from the heart is one of the ways to strengthen our intuition (especially in a time when our brains are fried and the word for next year is “brain rot”), to follow and live in alignment with the rhythms of nature and to learn how to listen and respect our bodies and inner reality.
Life often pushes us in corners, makes us take decisions that unfortunately compromise these modalities. As a result we have to deal with the residues of those bitter feelings of self-betrayal and disappointment.
But one thing I have witnessed through these Moon Circles, is that we are all capable to return home, to remember our truth and wholeness. We can heal and return to our power and confidence any time, as long as we develop the skills to listen and answer the calls of the soul.
As I am getting ready for the next Women’s Circle celebrating the Sagittarius Full Moon on the 14th of December, I want to emphasise how important it is that we learn to live in alignment with the rhythms of nature. Nature, the wise mirror, reflects to us our own phases, teaching us valuable lessons as we navigate our own cycles of dark and light.
Today I want to invite you to practice some listening to the Universe and nature (aka the Moon too). Tap into the ancient reservoir of ancestral wisdom and inspiration highlighting three themes that call for our attention before the end of 2024.
The Medicine of Darkness
Despite that this season is usually a time filled with events, holidays, and celebrations, we have to remember that December is a time when we enter the depths of darkness till the Winter Solstice on the 21st of this month. Our ancestors used this time for passive, personal magic and long nights of dreaming. Time to prepare mentally and spiritually for the light half of the year. We need to set intentions and incubate our plans.
Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are making space for the stillness of winter to set in. In the darkness of this season, we are reminded of the vast potential that lies hidden in the medicine of rest. For it is in the perceived stillness that the spark of creation resides. And while it may feel that rest is "doing nothing," there is always movement, it's just not the kind we can see with the naked eye.
And it’s important for us to take the medicine of pause. There are many ways how to practice rest and some of them we will explore in my next circle on the 14th of December.
The Feminine CODE
In December the Universe encourages us to slow down, to relax and reflect, to go inward. All of these are elements of the feminine energy, which is associated with the yin energy. Being, feeling, receiving, surrender, ease, flow. Feminine represents the softer, cooler, darker energies that allow us to flow with cycles, to receive, and to surrender.
The Masculine energy on the other side is associated with yang energy. Doing, thinking, action, effort, forward motion. Masculine represents the harder, hotter, and firey energies that allow us to push forward, to persevere, to actively create and make things happen.
Without a doubt the universe needs a balance of masculine and feminine energies in order to thrive in harmony, as do each one of us.
However, for thousands of years our society has valued masculine energies over the feminine. Our belief system around success and happiness is based on Hard Work, pushing, fighting, overcoming obstacles. Even when you are reading this text you might be wondering - how otherwise can you achieve your dreams? Nobody modelled another other way.
Too much masculine energy has led to excess of violence, aggression, and destruction of the planet. Such excess of masculine energy has caused burnout, anxiety, stress, and other health problems.
As more and more women feel the call of changing their lifestyle and claiming their female element, turning to the Moon (link to the Women Circle) for wisdom in daily life, we see a new chance to restore the energetic balance. Whether you are male or female, working in harmony with the cycles of nature can help to bring a greater connection to the divine feminine and allow your life to naturally flow the way it should - downstream, with ease.
I invite you to contemplate this month over your relationship with the feminine? Do you experience guilt when you are taking a pause? Do you give yourself permission to feel your feelings, do you respect the needs of your soul? Are you experiencing shame around spiritual topics. Why? What is it that makes you feel that way? For years and years we have been taught to only trust and respect our mind and thoughts but what will happen if you let go of them?
Do you believe in Magic
This is one of my favourite themes of December. When you think about it, many of us have lost the connection with Christmas and the holy tradition around this holiday, because we are too busy to allow fun and joy into our lives or we feel pressured to spend more money. We have forgotten the essence of this magical time of the year, of the joy around lighting a fire, decorating our home and cooking a warm meal, which later we can share with our loved ones. Gathering around the table, exchanging stories is the true medicine of this season. And there is no better time to do it.
December is a time to connect with old memories, to celebrate but also to reflect and rethink our own belief system. What has served us this past year and what we are called to change. Gathering with our families is a great way to remember our childhood, the dreams we’ve had and what we thought at the time was possible. It is a great time to see our own progress.
My invitation to you is to join the Full Moon Women Circle at MOONHUB and to reflect on what you have achieved, what you need to let go of and leave behind in 2024.
Then we will discuss different ways of deep rest to implement in your daily life. Finally We are going to have some fun learning about the coming Winter Solstice, how it was celebrated by our ancestors, the symbols of this Holiday and how to make our own a wreath at home.
