The month of December begins and ends with a new moon. That already says a lot about the energy this month holds. Every new moon creates space for our manifestations. As if the moon is saying, let me make room and take a step back for one night. With that space, we are given the opportunity to plant our seeds of intention for the upcoming month, in this case even year. With the moon in Sagittarius, it invites us to expand and aim high, wide and far. No dream is too big.
The New Moon in Sagittarius takes place on the 1st of December. In the midst of Sagittarius season, we might experience unexpected luck, lots of reasons to laugh and seek positivity in all situations. However, with Mercury Retrograde putting a damper on things, this Sagittarius season might feel a bit less amusing than usual.
Since the 26th of November, Mercury is in retrograde and will remain so until the 15th of December. This cosmic phenomenon reoccurs at least 2 times a year. Being the fast paced planet, Mercury is, it has been named after the Roman messenger god. Known for its swiftness and tricky ways, it temporarily messes with plans and creates hiccups in technology. In other words, expect the unexpected and lean into the discomfort of the momentary interruptions. There is a message in there for you, if you listen within.
Another transit that has been long awaited is the shift of Pluto into the sign of Aquarius. What will this bring? A revolution in technology and the way we engage with the online world. This constellation will have a major impact on the collective as a whole. The last time Aquarius was in Pluto was during the French and American revolution. Pluto, known as the God of the Underworld, stands for deep transformation. There is a difference between change and transformation. A change is rather mercurial in nature. Pluto however digs deep, unearths the psychology of one, and unlocks our inner power.
For the fixed signs of the zodiac, meaning Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius - embrace the transformative energies of Pluto. Transformation takes time, and so does this transit. Not every sign will ever experience a Pluto transit in their lifetime, seeing that this planet moves as slow as it does. This says a lot about the karmic lessons you signed up for.
On the 4th of December expect a culmination of energy. Mercury, still in retrograde, will be standing opposite of Jupiter, the planet of expansion. The energy might feel tense, there might be a tendency of exaggeration or even broken promises made. My go-to mantra during these astrological hectic times is: slow down, breathe and trust the reroute. Rejection is in essence redirection. The Universe always knows what’s best for you.
On the 7th of December, Venus enters the sign of Aquarius and conjuncts Pluto, the planet of rebirth and intensity. This combination of love, plus intensity, will create an opening for potential love and attraction. Steer away from feelings of possessiveness and jealousy.
The day Mercury goes direct is on the actual full moon. The 15th of December marks the peak of the moon cycle, also when energy has accumulated the most. Having the Full Moon in Gemini is inviting us to let go through the element of air. Where do we fear being seen and heard? How can we express ourselves more freely and authentically? Communication is closely linked to manifestation. The more we are in alignment with our authentic self and voice, the more we can align with the manifestations we desire to see take place in life.
Towards the end of the month, and the beginning of Capricorn season, on the 21st of December, we invite the light to return with the Winter Solstice. Every cardinal sign ushers in a new season. Capricorn initiates us into the season of reflection, officially making it winter in the north. This is known to be the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Our ancient ancestors understood and respected the cycles, transitions, seasons and the interconnectedness of the web of life. This is a powerful day to create ritual and tune within. Light candles in your home, turn it into a sanctuary and retreat within. Ask yourself: what can the darkness of this season teach me?
Every month tune in to the blog here on MOONHUB for a cosmic update and learn what magic awaits you in the lunar cycle ahead. Each cycle ebbs and flows, let’s learn how to flow with it by becoming cosmically savvy. Until then, many blessings your way, as we embark on the darkest season of the year.
