Good vibes only - Palo Santo Sticks
Palo Santo, or "holy wood" in Spanish, comes from the Bursera Graveolens tree and has been revered in South America for centuries for its spiritual healing and uplifting properties. While sage removes negativity, Palo Santo brings positivity.
Why we love it: Palo Santo's smoke promotes good mood, creativity and inspiration, and its stimulating aroma is great for meditation as it promotes calm and relaxing moods.
Description
Palo Santo sticks come from trees that are dying naturally. During this decomposition process, the tree is pressed, releasing its oil and acquiring its medicinal and aromatic properties.
Our packages contain 3 to 5 Palo Santo sticks.
How to smudge
Open a window when smoking in a room to allow the energy to flow out. Once you have cleansed a room and cleared away the stagnant energy, for example with sage, the room will be empty. At this point it is important to fill the room with the power of love and white light. You don't want your room to be filled with random energy flying around, do you?!
To begin the ritual, take a moment to express gratitude and set your intention for the practice. Then, open the windows to let in fresh air and positive energy. Light the incense stick and watch the flame dance for 20 seconds before extinguishing it. Now, take the incense stick and spread the fragrant smoke around you and into the corners of your room. Make sure you have burned all the items you want to cleanse for at least 30 seconds, then place the used incense stick in a ceramic bowl or container. Remember not to extinguish the stick with water, as this can damage the Palo Santo. Each stick can be used 10 to 15 times, so you can enjoy the benefits of this cleansing ritual for a long time.
When to smudge
- When moving into a new home.
- After an argument or when being around a lot of people.
- To cleanse energy from a specific place or object.
- When you feel depressed, anxious, or otherwise unusual.
- When you need to concentrate on energy or thoughts.
- Before going to bed to prevent nightmares.
- When you want to relax in general.
- In the morning, to be thankful.
- Before a ceremony or ritual
Benefits of smudging
Smudging, the ritual burning of sacred herbs or wood, is done to rid a room or person of negative energies. For example, if your home feels stale or sad, if an argument has taken place and the air still buzzes with anger, or if a visitor carries unpleasant powers, this is a good time to smudge. One can also smudge oneself to drive away anger, malaise, sadness, or illness.
Our physical eyes cannot perceive the toxins and energies floating in the air, but our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies can sense them. So by burning wood or incense as the ancients did, we can cleanse our spaces, bodies, auras and any crystals we keep.
